Representations of different forms of water create splashes that grow in size like a fireworks show, creating different shapes and lines with flashes of light appearing like a glimpse of the sun peaking through a darkness cluttered by fragments, like shards of mirrors. That fits metaphorically with the theme of depression, but the imagery doesn't replicate or evoke that condition in any sense. The song is about drowning emotionally and the film begins with the audience looking up into a vortex from a standing position, which causes viewers to lose their sense of spatial awareness and possibly even their balance. He wrote the transitions between each section, but each writer also cross-collaborated with one another. He wrote a script, but gave it to five other writers to interpret his idea for each section.
